Timekeepers are replaced by our advanced computer vision technology. Touchpads are optional.
*based on a 10 lane pool.
Guaranteed results integrity for every swimmer
Olly Timing video ensures that every swimmer receives an accurate time. Video replay enables results queries to be swiftly and authoritatively resolved.
Times are officially recognised by Swimming NSW, except for State Records.
Safe Sport aligned
Use of Olly Timing reduces the number of people on pool deck with direct access to swimmers. Olly Timing can integrate with your School Safe Sport policy.
Video is captured in wide angle without the personal information of swimmers. Data is stored locally and deleted after 6 months once any results queries have been resolved.

Frequently Asked Questions
Olly Timing can operate at pools with up to 10 lanes and finishes at both ends. We recommend contacting us to discuss your facility.
Yes. Olly Timing is valid for official times, except for NSW State records*. This is regardless of it being used alone as the primary timing system, or alongside touchpads as secondary.
The times are certified in Swim Central where they can be used to qualify for events, including state and national.
*Our new 100fps camera is available by prior appointment at SOPAC for validating NSW State records.
At SOPAC Olly Timing uses a roof mounted camera and does not occupy any space on pool deck or in the stands.
At other pools OllyGo uses 1 or 2 tripods located at the finish end(s) of the pool. One leg extends 120cm across the pool deck as shown here.
Olly Timing enables timekeepers to be removed from pool deck. A starting strobe will be placed on the pool deck. There may be some modifications to the results recording procedures used by officials.
If your event uses backstroke ledges then a small number of people will be required to manage those during backstroke events.
If your event is for inexperienced swimmers then it might help for a person to be stationed at the finish to request the swimmers leave the pool after the start of the next race.
Queries about results will now be swiftly and authoritatively resolved.
With OllyGo the meet can run at whatever speed you wish.
At SOPAC with junior swimmers when there are often several backup times required per heat, it may take a few additional seconds per heat to bring in backup times. Organisers have recognised this and not found it to be a significant issues for them.
When operating Olly Timing alongside touchpads a heat interval of 38″ or more is recommended. For meets containing many young or inexperienced swimmers where many backup times may be required, a heat interval of 40″ of more will provide more headroom.
Results can be delivered electronically straight into Meet Manager software, or as csv files for importing into a spreadsheet.
At SOPAC backup times are provided direct to the primary timing system (AOE).
No technology is 100% reliable. To date Olly Timing has demonstrated reliability better than other systems.
Olly Timing uses high reliability security cameras which continuously archive all video. This can be used to replay events in case of system breakdown.
At SOPAC, Olly Timing is a backup to the primary timing system. At other venues were OllyGo is used, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used to further secure reliability.
Yes. We recommend that any officials who have not previously worked with Olly Timing are fully engaged prior to ensure that they are comfortable with any modifications to their familiar and routine operating procedures.
When using OllyGo we prefer to arrive at the venue at least 2hrs prior to warm-up to allow sufficient time to offload and erect the cameras before the pool deck gets busy. If that is not possible then we may be able to prepare the day before.
Olly Timing can connect to Meet Manager which connects to Meet Mobile.
Yes. We supply a video scoreboard feed via HDMI. We do not provide the screen hardware.
The display is simple – showing lanes, times and placings. Names and disqualifications are not shown.

Everything except timekeepers (and their food, Working With Children, etc)! You will continue to require Officials including Recorders.
Ultimately that is a question for them. In our experience venue management are supportive once they understand how we ensure safety including safe sport.
Olly Pad Check is available at SOPAC. Please discuss availability at other venues.
