A new high-speed camera has been installed at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC), operating at 100 frames per second (fps) and delivering timing accuracy down to 0.01s intervals.
This updated technology, having been tested at Swimming NSW (SNSW) winter events, means SNSW has confirmed it will now validate records timed by Olly Timing at SOPAC.
With the new camera in place, Olly Timing unequivocally meets the requirements of both World Aquatics Competition Regulations and World Para Swimming Rules and Regulations, enabling world records to be validated.
“Photo finish results integrity is routinely eliminating both controversies and timekeepers,” commented Olly Timing Founder, Ben Ramsden. “Parents, coaches, officials, administrators and athletes can now celebrate that there is absolutely no reason to use timekeepers at SOPAC ever again.”
