Sydney Uni Sport members to benefit from refreshingly simple swim meets until at least 2027

Sydney University Sport has signed a 3-year contract to install and use Olly Timing from high above their 8-lane, 50m Peter Montgomery Olympic Pool at SUSAC.

The University of Sydney is ranked 18th in the world overall, 1st in Australia in a wide range of disciplines and is the birthplace of this amazing new ‘hands free’ timing system. Sydney University Sport has recently partnered up with Swimming NSW and NSWIS to establish a swimming performance centre which aims to have the state’s swimmers both well-educated and on the top of the podium in Brisbane 2032.

Olly Timing’s world leading computer vision artificial intelligence technology started life as a research project in the Sydney University Computer Science faculty.

Sydney Uni Sport CEO Ed Smith stated: “As CEO of Sydney Uni Sport, I am excited that this home-grown technology is now available to us as we aspire to develop Australia’s fastest and smartest swimmers”.

Sydney Uni Swimming Club President Elka Whalan OLY added: “Olly Timing helps us to improve the experience of our members and makes life easier for our volunteers, coaches and swimmers. We can now focus on what happens in the pool, not around it”.

Olly Timing Founder Ben Ramsden added: “We are thrilled that the University can now drink its own champagne”.
